Photography Show - All entries taken on Sunday, July 27, 2008 between 1 and 4 pm

Rules |
The photography show is detailed on page 112 of the fair catalog as follows: All pictures must be made during the current 07-08 year. Photo size may be from 3x5 to 8x10 with the exception of panoramic photos that fit the 11x14. All photos must be mounted on 11x14 except for the panoramic photos, which must be mounted on 14x17 wide. All backing must be presentable, sturdy and not thicker than 1/4". All works must be mounted on one piece of sturdy mounting board. Neutral color mounting board is suggested but standard board may be used. Pictures will not be accepted in frames (mat board only). Each picture must be mounted securely. Rubber cement or dry mounting tissue is recommended. Do not use photo mounting corners. Pictures may be cropped (trimmed). All mounted entries must include: Name, County, Class number, and Title listed on the back of each entry. Absolutely no writing on the front of the mounting board that is related to the photograph. All entries must have four sticky-back Velcro squares in each of the four corner, on the back for easier exhibiting. Please place the loop side of the Velcro to the mounting board while the smooth side of the Velcro should be left attached to the loop square for removal by the judges. Photography will be judged on the basis of story telling ability, creativity, photographic quality, composition, and over-all neatness. Each entrant is permitted only one entry per class. A copy of the photograph that has been entered in one class cannot be entered in another. All photographs must be the original work of the artist (with the exception of the actual printing). If the exhibitor has also made the print itself, color or b&w, please specify on the back of the mount. Negatives of prize winning pictures must be available upon request to verify originality and if necessary available for reprinting for publication. Entries must be picked up on the last Saturday of the Fair between 9 and 12. Premiums are First: $5, Second $3, Third $2.
Class 1: Portraits - depiction of a personality, head or full figure, posed or informal, not candid, wherein the person is the main interest.) Duos are permitted. Class 2:Human interest. Candid, people, interacting, etc. Class 3: Scenic: Landscapes, water, sunsets, buildings, roads, etc. Class 4: Floral: flowers, gardens, plants, cultivated or wild. Class 5: Animal: wild or domestic. Class 6: Children: including babies. Class 7: Unclassified. abstract creative photography which can include "trick photography", buildings, still-lifes, and subjects not properly belonging in a category above. |
